Cape Henry Landing 1607

April 26, 1607, those first permanent English settlers arrived in their three small ships at what they named Cape Henry, in what is now Virginia Beach. Led by Christopher Newport and Captain John Smith, three days later they planted a cross and dedicated this new land to the glory of God. Their descendants later started the longest continually runnning democratic representative body in the world.
